Who we are and what we do

Hayat Al-Ummah Welfare started with a simple thought — if we can help someone, why shouldn't we? Many times, we would see children who did not have enough money for their basic needs. Seeing them always made us think that one day, we should do something for people like them. We didn't know exactly how or when, but the thought of helping people stayed with us. With time, that thought became a purpose. We wanted to do something meaningful for people who are struggling, and we wanted to bring other young people together who felt the same way. In March 2026, we turned that thought into action and started Hayat Al-Ummah Welfare with just five volunteers. What began as a small effort slowly grew into a team working together for the community. Today, our work focuses on food and relief support, community awareness, legal-aid support, and connecting people affected by difficult situations, including sexual assault, with appropriate support services. We believe that change doesn't always begin with something big. Sometimes, it begins with one meal, one helping hand, one conversation, or simply being there for someone. We are not yet a registered NGO, and we are open about that. What we are is a growing circle of young volunteers who show up, plan, pack and deliver — and who publish what we actually do.
